The Sofias take their moms out for the day

A good boss knows that workers need a break every so often to keep morale up and productivity high. The Sofias gave their workers a spirit boosting field-trip to the park and a coffee shop (I'm not sure which), and in return they asked only to be pushed around in their rolling chair/beds.

A New Trick

Sofia has learned to grab her feet and pull them to her mouth for analysis. The verdict? A little difficult but worth it. In the end though, the big toe will not replace the thumb as the digit of choice anytime soon.

In the city so nice that naming it just once seemed somehow inadequate

There was a really amazing view overlooking Central Park from the apartment where we stayed. Fede, little Sofia and I all had bad colds and were jet-addled, one of us had a vicious case of morning sickness, one of us was beginning to sprout teeth, and every last one of us was bone tired from the long trip and almost 6 months of baby boot camp. So holing up in the room with a view along with the Sofia's American grandparents and essentially not going out unless we absolutely had to was as good as could be done under the circumstances. There's a lot to do in New York, and we didn't do any of it. Maybe next time. We were 2/3rds of the way home from Rome to Seattle. We were exhausted.
